DITA Exchange is a suite of standard products that installs seamlessly on a running SharePoint server farm or in conjunction with Microsoft Word.

The fact that all user interfaces are know by the vast majority of all users means the the training effort involved in rolling DITA Exchange out in a global organization is very limited.

The same goes for organizational resistance towards implementing new software tools and IT platforms. Microsoft Word and SharePoint is well known in many organizations and therefore 'not a problem'.

... and your IT department will nod their head too. They know Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Word very well. They do not need to take new courses, allocate people to a new proprietary platform etc. Seamless is again a keyword for a successful implementation.
